Picarro and CleanAir Engineering Partner to Deliver Advanced Ethylene Oxide Monitoring Solutions and Services

Combination of innovative measurement technology and best-in-class services will enable industrial clients to accurately measure and efficiently manage EO emissions

PALATINE, IL — June 2, 2021 — Clean Air Engineering, Inc. (CleanAir), a global environmental services and technical product provider, today announced that it has signed a channel partnership agreement with Picarro, Inc. (Picarro), a leading provider of gas concentration and stable isotope analyzers and systems for scientific and industrial applications. Through this partnership, CleanAir will combine Picarro’s industry-leading ethylene oxide (EO) monitoring technology with its best-in-class services to provide industrial clients with advanced solutions for EO measurement and monitoring.

According to Joel Avrunin, Picarro’s Vice President Sales and Marketing for Science Continuous Monitoring Instruments: “New research on EO toxicity and evolving regulations are driving the need for faster, more sensitive EO monitoring solutions. With Picarro at the heart of their systems and CleanAir’s excellent technical services, industrial clients can be confident in their ability to efficiently manage EO emissions.”

Dr. Volker Schmid, Vice President of Applied Technology at CleanAir, further stated that: “Partnering with Picarro allows CleanAir to offer an innovative monitoring solution to its industrial clients. This, in turn, will give our clients the tools they need to thoroughly evaluate the impact of their operations and make informed decisions based on robust and defensible data.”

CleanAir and Picarro: Future-Proof CEMS Solutions for EO

CleanAir has decades of experience building, installing, and maintaining continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS), fully integrating advanced instruments such as gas concentration analyzers with data quality checks, calibration, heated sample lines, and cloud-based monitoring and reporting. Picarro EO analyzers are based on the company’s patented Cavity Ring-down Spectroscopy (CRDS). This enables the analyzers to deliver the fastest response and lowest limits of detection for real-time insight into emission rates and concentrations from sterilization and aeration abatement controls. The Picarro technology is also simple to integrate and requires less maintenance and service than other analyzers making it a future-proof foundation for CleanAir clients’ long-term monitoring solutions.

About Picarro

Picarro is a leading provider of solutions to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) concentrations, trace gases and stable isotopes across many scientific and industrial applications. Industrial solutions range from mobile leak detection technology for utilities companies to trace gas analysis for semiconductor fabrication and pharmaceutical isolators. Services providers, regulators and researchers trust our patented CRDS to enable the detection of target molecules at parts-per-billion (ppb) levels or better resolution. About CleanAir

CleanAir is an environmental service company that since its founding in 1972 has specialized in finding solutions to often complex measurement challenges. To address the challenge of reliable and sensitive continuous measurement of EO in continuous emissions, indoor and ambient air monitoring applications, CleanAir developed the CleanAir EO Continuous Monitoring System (aka, MET-44), which is built around the Picarro EO analyzer lineup. The MET-44 stands in the tradition of continuous monitoring systems developed, commissioned, and supported by CleanAir for various applications over the past 15 years via its Advanced Monitoring Solutions Group.
