The SME Annual Conference (MineXchange) is the world’s largest technical conference in the mining industry with more than 6,000 industry professionals attending the event. The conference offers several different learning opportunities such as the exhibitor’s hall, educational technical sessions, short courses offering PDH credit, panels featuring recognized experts in the field, networking functions and even trips out into the field. The event will begin on Sunday, February 23, 2020 and continue until Wednesday, February 26,2020, each day lasting roughly between 7:00 am to 9:00 
pm and beyond for certain ticketed events. During the the afternoon of Monday, February 24, CleanAir’s Dr. Ali Lashgari will be running a session on “Recent Advancements in the Mine Health and Safety Solution,” so be sure to stop by if attending the conference. Dr. Lashgari is one of the seven members of the Program Committee for the conference. His role is to plan the Health and Safety Division’s technical program for the conference, which includes eight technical sessions on various topics related to health and safety in mining.
Dr. Lashgari’s session on recent advancements in the mine health and safety solution will bring together executives from several major mining companies, including Freeport McMoRan, Newmont GoldCorp and Anglo American, to present their innovative solutions on overcoming today’s health and safety-related challenges in mining. At the end of the session, speakers will join Dr. Lashgari for a panel discussion on the “Role of Innovation and Technology in Framing the Future of Mine Health and Safety”.
